The Role of Values as Predictor of Citizenship-Related Attributes
The value that individuals put on a certain end-state, outcome, or goal drives and that individualis drives and energizes their actions to attain such an end-state, outcome, or goal. The higher a person values something, the more intensive the effort exerted by that person to pursue what is valued. In this study, we examined two conceptually distinct constructs of values as predictors of citizenship-related attributes: task values (Wigfield & Eccles, 1992) and basin life values (Schwarz, 2005).
