In looking at the definitions of citizenship and nationality and globalization
this section highlights that the link between the individual and the nation
state is less relevant to people in both a domestic sense and an international
sense when considering the consequences of citizenship for international
law. While it will not be redundant, its centrality to the laws of people will
be diminished. Moreover, in international law, this section argues that one
significant consequence is the altering of the legal principles of nationality.
