The roadrunner is about sixty centimeters in lenght. Half of this is its tail. Its short wings seem out of proportion to its long legs. Although the roadrunner is a bird , it runs more then it flies. As it marches across the desert, its huge tail feathers swing from side to side. Sometimes a roadrunner can be seen streaking across the road as though it were a child wind-up car. The roadrunner is truly one of the strangest-looking birds.
