The study population consists of participants in the Chicago Health and Aging Project
(CHAP)(15;16). Briefly, the study population enrolled residents age 65 years and older in
four adjacent neighborhoods in Chicago. Data collection includes an in-person interview
conducted in participant’s homes, which include standardized questionnaires and tests for
the assessment of health history, physical function, health behaviors and social factors.
Written informed consent was obtained and the study was approved by the Institutional
Review Board.
