Release of OMVs from V. cholerae and V. parahaemolyticus
was reported in (1993) by Kondo et al. By fixing cells
with the freeze-substitution technique, they were able to
observe small membranous vesicles. They also found that
anti-O (Inaba) serum reacted with the surface of the vesicles,
while the inside of the vesicle appeared as an electrodense
mass
