weld joints, with the best mechanical properties
and corrosion resistance, can be achieved by
using the inert gas welding processes. The maximum
recommended welding current (nonpulsing)
for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
is approximately 200 A. The maximum recommended
welding current (nonpulsing) for gas
metal arc welding (GMAW) is approximately
250 A. Both processes use bare wire welding
consumables, which are covered by the American
Welding Society (AWS) A5.14 specification
(Ref 15)
