Where employees are prevented from using their full annual leave entitlement, they may apply in writing to
the Project Manager / Department Manager to carry leave forward to agreed Head of Department agrees to
this request, it should be endorsed and forwarded to the Personnel Department for information.
In special cases, outstanding leave may be carried forward to the subsequent 9 months of the next leave
year, but only when authorized by the Managing Director.
In any event, no leave may be carried forward more than 12 months from the end of the year to which the
leave relates.
Annual leave not taken in the relevant leave year and not authorized to be carried forward as above will be
forfeit. Payment in lieu of leave not taken is not permitted other than on termination of employment, when
payment in lieu of leave not taken in the current year will be made.
