Cognitive disorders
Cognitive impairment may be secondary to the tumor
itself (eg, in bilateral frontal lobe, corpus callosum, or
deep structure locations), but also to the treatments (radiotherapy,
chemotherapy, AEDs) [6]. Whole-brain radiotherapy,
especially in elderly patients, or associated
with chemotherapy, results in irreversible frontal–
subcortical dementia, which may benefit from a symptomatic
treatment with methylphenidate [7].
