4.4. QRS Detection
An important processing step in ECG signal analysis is extraction of the QRS-complex and detection of the Rwave peaks. The algorithm to detect these peaks involves a moving average based filtering operation followed by a peak detector as described in [18]. Feature vectors such as R-R interval, heart rate vector, heart rate variability (HRV) and level of the threshold detector are the outputs of the QRS Detector block in AJDSP. Using this function, students can be taught the method for computation of heart rate given the sampling rate and the corresponding R-R interval of the ECG signal.
