2.2. Determination of the fatty acid values
The characterization of fatty acids in the oil was carried out in a
gas chromatograph equipped with autosampler; injector split, ratio
75:1; capillary column CP-SIL 88 (100 m0.25 mm i. d., 0.20 mm
film) and flame ionization detector (FID). The chromatographic
conditions were: initial temperature 120
C/2 min, heating rate of
120
Ce220
C in a range of 2.2
C/minute and from 220 to 235
C;
hydrogen as carrier gas (flow rate 1 mL/min); nitrogen as a“makeup” gas 30 mL/min; injector temperature 270
C; detector temperature 310
C and injection volume of 1 ml. The identification of
fatty acids was performed based on the comparison between the
retention time of the fatty acids of the sample and standard chromatogram. The quantification was performed by area normalization and the results were expressed in g/100 g sample.
