A study conducted by Yuan Ting (1997), it was found that three sets of factors, namely, job characteristics (such as promotional opportunity, task clarity and significance, skills utilization and pay satisfaction), organizational characteristics (such as organizational commitment and relationship with supervisors and co-workers) and individual characteristics among which job and organizational characteristics have significantly effected on the job satisfaction of federal government employees [as cited in Naresh Kumar & Singh Vandana, 2011]
