Among the various types of renewable energy, biomass is the one which is most closely tied to the territory. The presence of biomass varies in terms of quantity and type on the basis of climatic, morphological, economic and social factors. Close geographical areas from a spatial point of view could indeed possess potential for availability of very different forms of biomass, determined by different models for soil usage, in the presence of man, in agricultural and industrial development.
