Further, it may be possible that
greater toxicity exists during the day when pH is generally higher
due to photosynthesis, and lower toxicity observed at night when
pH decreases due to continued respiration in the absence of
photosynthesis. Relationships among factors
influencing spatiotemporal surface water pH dynamics, particularly
in response to anthropogenic activities and climatic changes and bioaccumulation and toxicity of toxins
produced by P. parvum require future study.
