150 kilometer north of Bangkok is the historically important province of Lopburi located. For nearly 1000 years ago served the city as one of the Khmer empires-key strongholds and has under its former name, Lawo, been part of a series of different kingdoms.
During the Ayutthaya era, Nari the Great, made Lop Buri to the kingdoms second capital and gave, with the help of French architects, the city's buildings, a multi-cultural style.
