both sides earlier told the supreme court's criminal division of political office-holders they had more than 100 witnesses , and submitted several thousand pages of documents for the judges' consideration.
Mr. norawit said the court would announce today how many witnesses each side can call and insistedand insisted Ms yingluck was ready to appear in court to defend herself against negligence in office charges. however, he noted he proceedings against Ms yingluck had been carried out at an unusually speedy pace.
This followed reports that prime minister prayut chan-o-cha, also chairman of the national rice policy committee,wanted authorities to take legal action "quickly within the given time frame".
Mr. norawit said while the case is proceeding quickly , it is also important it be heard in a fair manner.
