some researchers have attempted quite specifically to look at work-related beliefs. the first published account of the "believe about work" questionnaire was provided by buchholz. the measure contains five indices
the work ethic: the belief that work is good in itself, offers dignity to a person and that success is a result of personal effort.
the organization belief system: the view that work takes on meaning only as it affects the organization and contribute to one's position at work.
marxist-related beliefs: the opinion that work is fundamental to human fulfillment, but as currently organized represents exploitation of the worker and consequent alienation.
the humanistic belief system: the view that individual growth and development in the job is more important than the output
the leisure ethic: regards work as a means to personal fulfilment, though its provision of the means to pursue leisure activities.
