Japan is known to be prone to earthquakes. The
Great East Japan Earthquake was the worst we
had experienced, and looking back over history,
there have been numerous huge earthquakes
and disasters that caused huge damage, so we
cannot deny the possibility that the same or even
worse will happen in the future. After the earthquake and the tsunami, the Ministry of Internal
Affairs and Communications (MIC), a Japanese
government agency, while working on restoration, initiated study on policies and recommendations to enhance the resilience of the
communication infrastructure against disasters.
