The increasing use of synthetic insecticides has resulted in environmental pollution, residue contamination of human food, mammalian toxicity and resistance among the insect vectors. Therefore in the recent years, plant derivatives have gained tremendous importance in vectors management. The essential oils are thought to be environmentally safe, less hazardous to non-target organisms and can be applied effectively by using techniques more appropriate for the developing countries (Rendon-von et al., 2005). Several plant based repellents have been found effective as insecticides, insect growth inhibitors and repellent for reducing the biting nuisance by preventing human contact against a variety of insect vectors
