The last section concludes that under the same pressures, each household employed different strategies in coping with their difficult situations. Some households could apply more sustainable land use forms than others. Likewise, under the forces of the state and the pressures of the market system, some upland communities might be able to maintain rai mun wian or create other sustainable agricultural practices, while many other communities could not, depending on internal factors and support from the community outside which is essential for sustainable practices. In this regard, the differences of each community, household, and individual are crucial and need to be taken into account in policy making
