At 24 hpost-salt application, PAL encoding gene continued to be significantly upregulated
at a high (18.9-fold) and medium (3.2-fold) level when fruit were treated
with SB and SC, respectively, as compared to the unwounded control.
However,
when the salt effect was considered alone, only SB seemed to maintain its inductive
effect on PAL expression, although at a low level(1.5-fold), as compared to wounded
controls.
