Therefore, this coating process (nanoseeding and mild growth conditions) can be extended to a large panel of substrates. For instance, nanoporous diamondmembranes have also been achieved through deposition on alumina substrate (see Supporting information). It also has to be noted that the substrate can be removed to obtain full diamond membrane. Dealing with silica substrate, it can be dissolved by hydrofluoric acid. Then a full diamond membrane remains, made of diamond tubes as depicted in Fig. 2a. It has to be highlighted that this full diamond membrane is resistant, not breakable and can be freely handled.
