Wai Khru custom is celebrated on a Thursday in June. The people believe that Thursday's star is the planet Jupiter. The teacher confers knowledge, concentrate and wisdow. Students believe that by paying respect, they will receive merit and good luck in their study. The Wai Khru ceremony begins with the school principal lighting candles and incense sticks and paying homage to the Buddha images. All the students take a vow to be loyal to the Nation, the Religion, and the King, to behave well,work hand and obey the school rule. The students give symbolic flower to teacher. These flowers are Khem flower, Makua and Ya Praek. This day helps to build good relationships between teachers and students.
