Curcumin was also found to be good antioxidant and show better antioxidative
efficiency when compared to butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT), a-tocopherol and trolox in vitro (Ak & Gulcin, 2008). Previous studies have confirmed that curcumin and its analogues show strong hepatoprotective effects against
oxidative damage caused by ethanol (Graham, 2009).
