Where, why and how do budding plant, pot
crop, foliage, and perennial seedlings or cuttings
originate? In order for plants to reproduce, the
process of either sexual or asexual propagation
needs to occur. These forms of regeneration or
replication have been labeled as both an art and a
science, and producers must learn both facets so
that their product is successful. This handout covers
the basic principles of annual and perennial
propagation and can serve as a general reference for
herbaceous propagation.
