Fungal to bacterial ratio provides a means to determine whether on a relative basis which group is becoming more dominant due to a treatment. There was no significant effect on the fungal to bacteria ratio in all three soils on all sampling days (Fig. 3). The relative abundances of individual EL-FAMEs also were not significantly affected by glyphosate treatments. Analysis of variance of every EL-FAME set at P < 0.05 or P < 0.10 resulted in a significant glyphosate treatment effect 1.9% and 11% of the time, respectively, across all soil and sampling days. However, at both levels of significance there was no consistent pattern from one sampling day to the next as to which EL-FAME showed a significant glyphosate treatment effect.
