4.Specificity of the test
The method must be tested with other bacteria in order to
determine the specificity. We determined the specificity of the
test using 40N.gonorrhoeae isolates and 35 other bacterial
species including 3 non-gonococcalNeisseria species, and 32
non-Neisseria species as templates. Three non-gonococcal
Neisseria isolates areN. meningitidis,N. sicca, andN. mucosa
which are commonly found in clinical specimens. Other nonNeisseria species are included both Gram positive and Gram
negative bacteria.
