I have verbal confirmation of the following contingency plan that is put forward to UPS and will minimise such incidents. The approach is 2 pronged
1) We will make UPS commit to confirmed space with the carrier (BUP+PLA) This is effectively almost guaranteeing the uplift less of mechanical issues. This will come at no extra cost.
2)We will shift the flight from last flight out of SIN ( TG 410 2100) to TG408 ( 1815). This leaves us with a second TG410 as a backup in the unlikely event that offload occurs.
I will await UPS written confirmation on the agreed and a meeting with the Singapore MD to bring to her the importance of timely deliveries is on the cards in the following weeks.
