Summer Workshop.
Each year the summer
workshops began towards the end of July, just
prior to the start of the school year. The work
-
shops were held at Washington Elementary, and
they focused on mathematics content and ped
-
agogy. In the first two weeks of the workshop,
teachers selected one theme per week that they
would follow in morning math sessions. During
the first summer, Clemens and I led sessions on:
fractions, number systems, geometry, estimation.
In the second summer another theme on math
and science was added and taught by members
