measuring a garment for a spec is one part of apparel design and production that cannot be rushed or fudged. when measuring a finished garment,you should first, if necessary, lightly press or steam the garment, as it is difficult to accurately measure a wrinkled garment. the garmwnt should, be placed flat on a large, clean work surface. all buttons, zipper, and closures should be fastened. lay the garment down and gently pat away any air pockets from the center outward. do not stretch the garment. use atape measuer to take all measurements. lay the tape measure flat on your garment and carefully measure from one point to the othre as specified on your spec sheet.
