what is striking about all of these cases is that the innovator bad to create a business in order to innovate. none of the products is from an established large scale manufacturing concern many of these individuals worked for a large organisation or tried to persuade a large organisation to take up their invention in order to bring about innovation. unable to persuade someone to back their idea/invention they had to go it alone and create a new venture (i.e. a new business) in order to innovate. it is this makes them entrepreneurs as wall as innovations and the fact that technology was an important part of their innovation means that they are all examples of technical entrepreneurs.
