qualityofserviceandcustomersatisfaction,itisimportanttomeasurehowtheserviceprovidedis
perceivedandtodeterminecustomers’ expectationsanddemands.In2009,theTurkishRepublicState
Railways(knownasTCDDinTurkey),whichproviderailwaytransportationservicesinTurkey,started
High SpeedTrain(HST)transportationservices.HSTsarecomfortableandtechnologicallymodern
transportation vehiclesthatattractbothcurrentandpotentialcustomers.Since2009,effortshavebeen
made toexpandHSTservicestoothercities.ThecurrentHSTservicebetweenthecitiesofIstanbuland
Ankara inTurkeycanbeusedasamodeltoevaluatecustomersatisfactionandqualityofserviceduring
the developmentofadditionalHSTservicesbetweenothercities.Therefore,thepurposeofthepresent
study wastocreateamathematicalmodeltodeterminewhichareasofserviceinfluenced customers’
viewsandsatisfactionregardingHSTservicesinTurkeyandthemagnitudeofcontributionofthese
factors tooverallsatisfaction.Thus,factoranalysiswasconductedtodeterminetherelevantfactorsaf-
fecting satisfactionwithHSTservices.Amathematicalmodelwasthencreatedwiththehelpoffactor
scores. Asresidualoutlierswerefoundduringthecreationofthemodelinboththe x and y directions,
certain boundedinfluence estimatorsresistanttooutliersinbothdirectionswereproposedforthees-
timation ofmodelparameters.Themathematicalmodelsestablishedinthisstudyenabledtheanalysisof
