The major aim of this study is to examine why English as foreign language (EFL) students behave in such a way that is considered undesirable behavior or even misbehavior. To contextualize the study, this chapter provides background information relating to the present study, and discusses the need of the present study. Also, the objectives and research questions are delineated. In addition, the conceptual framework chosen to undergird the present study is described. Finally, the scope of the study which delimits the breadth and the depth of the present study are presented.
