Korea is actively participating MICE where both government and private sectors are preparing themselves to attract more events and group tours. The Korea Tourism Organisation (KTO) predicts that around 22,800 participants will visit the country between 2017 and 2021 with regard to 7 major international congresses to be hosted in the nation. It will also host 9 corporate incentive tours between January and October this year, bringing around 40,000 visitors to the country. Kangwon Land, a casino and resort company, is hosting 2 incentive groups this month from Thai companies with more than 1000 employees participate. These travelers are expected to visit the ski resorts and nearby tourist attractions. “Attracting the overseas incentive group is the result of our efforts to promote our sales to Southeast Asian countries, which hardly see snow, in cooperation with the KTO.” said the Director of the resort division of Kangwon Land Yang Soo-yong.
