The prominent effect of ASEAN cooperation is on education. ASEAN effects regional education in both positive and negative aspects. In the positive aspect, the member countries can exchange their students to study in the neighboring countries easily. This is due to there is the adjustment of the time for learning semesters. Therefore, these countries can understand each other in terms of cultures, knowledge and perspectives of people in each country. Regarding the negative aspect, there are some countries unready for student exchange and time adjustment. For Thailand, there are some effects on its education both in negative and positive ways. For the positive aspect, there are more students from neighboring countries coming to study in many institutes in the country. This is because Thailand is located in the middle of the region. Meanwhile the negative effect for Thailand is that the new time for learning semester is not suitable for the weather in the country. Learning in the summer causes the high expense for electric power.
