The main objective of this work was to optimise
the time of analysis and the sensitivity of the
photothermal cholinesterase–FIA system. In this
context various flow rates through FIA system
prepared with cholinesterases of different origin
were tested. The influence of contact time between
the enzyme and the pesticide (determined by the
flow rate) on sensitivity of the FIA system was
studied to determine optimal experimental conditions
and to elucidate the reasons for differences
in sensitivities of different enzymes. Finally, the
suitability of such FIA system for detection of
some frequently applied organophosphates and
carbamates was evaluated
