due to a navigation error, I found myself on this back road.
Trying to find my way, I noticed a lone donkey in distress.
the donkey pointed down, as if to show me his injured legs.
I called my friend lilach and told her I found an injured donkey.
the donkey probably belonged as some point to a member of the arab tribes living in the desert.
lilach arrived with some rope.
I was worried that a possible abusive owner may show up, so i decided to hide him.
we crossed the road into a nearby valley where we couldn't be seen.
his legs where tied with a rope that got embedded all the way to the bone.
every movement was painful, but we had to move to get to safety.
i than called Zvika tamaz the founder of pegasus and asked for his help.
zvika told me he would drop everything ,and be there in two hours.
pegasus rescues dozens of donkey and horses very year and i was very lucky to have their assistance.
i thanked zvika for coming to save us we agreed not to take rope off and figured we'll let the vet do it.
in the donkey's mind his legs were still tied together.
and than he realized he was free.
i asked zvika's wife, tanya , to hold the camera for me.
he was almost in' and zvika said: we'll call him Eldad.
i suggested that tanya will pull while we lift and push.
he was now safe and ready to go to his new home.
it's amazing to me that in the middle of nowhere i took a wrong turn bot found myself at the right place at just the right time.
we headed back to pegasus where i met all of their rescues.
elded was happy to meet new friends.
the rope penetrated so deeply that it tore some of his tendons.
the vet said i found him just in time and elded is expected to make a full recovery.
i looked at the green grass and said this is heaven.
happy donkey....at last
i promised holp for paws will cover all his medical bills.
