Employer of Choice programs are designed to aid an organization in outperforming its completion in the recruitment and retention of top talent in order to secure an exceptional workforce. Little research, however, has been done to ascertain the impact, if any, on profitability due to an organization achieving status. The assumption is that such a strategy will yield a competitive advantage for the organization, but this assertion has not been subjected to the rigors of academic scrutiny. This paper discusses the issues surrounding as a strategy and present, based on existing theory, empirically testable propositions.
