Data Analysis Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences program Version 17.0. Descriptive statistics were used to describe the level of knowledge of the elementary school teachers, such as percentages, frequencies, means, and standard deviations. A frequency distribution was utilized to assess sample charactetisties measured at the nominal level. The dependent variable, knowledge score, was measured at the ratio level. The assumptions for the independent Student’ s test were examined especially due to the small, unbalanced groups (number of teachers in each building; number of teachers who did and did not have either a degree in health care or a child with asthma, who have and have not cared for an individual with asthma, or who had and had not been personally diagnosed with asthma). The distribution of the dependent variable was normally distributed in this pilot sample. The level of significance was set at p< 05.
