reported that the rate of decomposition of HMTA at 90 °C calculated for a zinc-free solution is the same as that observed experimentally in a solution containing zinc nitrate and HMTA,implying that HMTA
decomposition does not depend on the reactions taking place
during ZnO deposition and that HMTA is an effective pH buffer.By using attenuated total reflection Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy performed on a solution containing zinc nitrate and HMTA, Sugunan et al. [18] proposed that HMTA acts as a nonpolar chelating agent which preferentially attaches to the lateral facets
of ZnO nanorods, inducing anisotropic growth along the c-axis.
