There is an appalling persistence of again stereotypes in the media and consistence, negative emphasis on the outward signs of aging, such as wrinkling of the skin and gray hair. Youth-oriented boomers who succumb to the nothing that aging is bad do everything to defy the outward signs of aging, driving the multibillion-dollar anti-aging industry. Negative representations of older adult in both visual and print media would have us believe there is nothing positive about aging; however, research shows that the majority of adults are satisfied with their age.
