Requirement Statement
This test method is used to determine the abrasion resistance of soling material cut from finished soles or polymer based sheet material.

2.Materials and Equipment
2.1Abrasion machine, meeting the requirements of DIN 53516.
2.2Drilling die, 16.0+/-0.2 mm in diameter.
2.3Electric drill mounted in a drill stand. ( The stand must allow the drilling die to move up and down in a perfectly vertical manner. )
2.4Standard elastomer, meeting the requirements of DIN 53516.
2.5Cyanoacrylate (super-glue), suitable for bonding rubber and plastics.
2.6Corundum abrasive cloth of grain size 60 bonded to cotton twill and meeting the requirements of DIN 53516.
2.7Aluminum disc, diameter of 16.0+/-0.2 mm, and minimum thickness of 6 mm.
