The Buddha died at age 80 at a site known as Kushinagar, near the Himalayan foothills.
The Buddha’s moment of enlightenment is known as nirvana, when he was freed from rebirth.
However, the Buddha continued to live for decades after his nirvana, even though he would no longer be reborn.
The Buddha’s final death, then, is known as the Parinirvana, his final death in bodily form, from which he would not be reborn.
