The pore structures of Al- and Fe-PILCs were synthesized, and their
catalytic activities in toluene and chlorobenzene oxidation were examined.
XRD results show that the basal spacing and the surface area are
significantly enlargedafter Al and Fe pillaring. Activity tests showed
that Fe-PILC enhanced the catalytic activities for the deep oxidation of
VOCs compared with Al-PILC and Na-mont. A higher concentration of
Fe in the pillared clay also exhibits superior performance. Fe-PILCs are
stable catalysts in the oxidation of chlorobenzene, evenwith HCl as a reaction
product.
