Interventions can include, but are not limited to control of such factors as one’s blood
glucose, blood pressure, diet (protein, sodium, potassium and phosphorous) and fluid intake, as well as avoidance of certain medications (i.e. aspirin, laxatives containing magnesium and aluminum, ulcer medications, H2-recepetor antagonists, enemas high in phosphorous, pseudoephedrine, herbal medications, and medications with large amounts of sodium).
