2.2 Organiational Context
While prior research has suggested the need to investigate the effect of task complexity on employee affective outcome in the context of the organization, very few studies have examined the impact of organization context on job satisfaction (Roberts & Glick 1981; Price & Mueller 1981; Holman, Clegg & Waterson 2002; Wittayapoon 2007). Organizational context, both internal and external are important in the study of job satisfaction. The current study uses organizational structure, in the form of the three dimensions of organizational structure: centralization, organizational complexity, and formalization (Robbins 1990) to examine the effect of internal organizational context on job satisfaction.
