The separation and detection of phenolic compounds in complexes
matrixes such as plant/fruits extracts has been performed
with different techniques. Reversed-phase high-performance liquid
chromatography (RP-HPLC) coupled with UV diode-array
detector (DAD) and tandem mass spectrometry detector (MS/MS)
with electrospray (ESI) or atmospheric pressure chemical ionization
(APCI) has proved to be the most suitable for the unambiguous
structural identification and quantification of phenolic compounds
