Typically, the description of the property will include a legal description, a common description and a description of the actual condition of the property. In the case of real property, a legal description is made by reference to public maps, plats or other recorded information which exactly defines the boundaries and limits of the property by metes and bounds, government surveys of subdivision plat. A common description of the same property may include the name of the property and a standard street address. The example should state: “The Sleepwell Hotel, located at the northwest corner of the Elm Street and Second A venue intersection.”
