Dear All,
First of all, my thanks to everyone who attended the two week sessions here in Cambridge – it was good to have the team together in one place at the same time and I think it worked very well generally. There was a lot of information shared in a short space of time and I fully appreciate the time and effort put-in by all, both in understanding of the modules and the focus on the new TMS software. Unfortunately we did not have a totally clean delivery of the TMS which was frustrating and has delayed the formal start of UAT, but at least it did provide the opportunity to review the system and provide a hands-on experience to help with learning on some of the core features. I apologise for the ‘gaps’ found during the training sessions and the pieces missing altogether. This was an unexpected situation and we will ensure we are in better shape for the next phase. Note that I have attached the workflow presentation document provided by the supplier for your information.
From a technical perspective there is still work to do on the TMS in order to update and stabilise functionality that was found missing and/or not working as expected. This is progressing with our suppliers and our primary focus is now to get into a position where we can see the complete base application that we expect for both TES and CTL teams and then release a stable system for UAT procedures to commence in the New Year. We will be looking to include 'initial' user permissions settings (that will be refined as we move forwards), so you will only see a subset of the overall system more relevant to daily activities. I will send out further information once we are in a position to move forward in this respect, currently anticipated during January 2015 (timelines to be confirmed).
As a general follow-up to the meeting, my request now is to ensure that what has been understood and learnt to date is not forgotten before we formally start the UAT process. It will be important therefore that everyone logs-on to the system regularly just to remain familiar and 'play' with functionality, plus at the same time share knowledge with colleagues to allow them the chance to familiarise themselves. I realise this is time-consuming at a busy time of year, but your continued support will help us with the success of the project overall and keep us moving in the right direction. Please continue to use the URL (below) and passwords provided during the training sessions for now and I will update you with latest information as soon as we have agreed the way forwards with our supplier.
