Thailand's smartphone market is expected to hit 122 billion baht this year, thanks to competitive pricing and aggressive promotion strategies, says a Japanese handset maker.
The local smartphone market is likely to grow by 7% in 2015, said Nichapoom Uasakunkiat, senior marketing officer of Sony Thai.
"We aim to become Thailand's third-largest smartphone maker in the premium market priced over 20,000 baht," said Yuzo Chiba, managing director of Sony Thai, which is currently one notch down in the market.
