Bagasse reclaimed from the stockpile located at Pleystowe Mill after 194 days
showed no physical degradation or discolouration and exhibited only a faint
odour ofacelic acid. The average moisture content of this bagasse was 48 per cent
Bagasse reclaimed from stockpiles which had remained at elevated temperature
exhibited the characterisitic brown colour and pungency. The pH level of these
bagasses was reduced to 2.0-3.0. "
